ARCS Minnesota is starting a series of “Monthly Meetup” sessions via Zoom so we can stay connected with one another, enjoy discussions of current topics in STEM areas (including research, education, & policy), and invite friends to participate.
These sessions will include conversations with ARCS MN Scholars, University of Minnesota partners, ARCS members and open discussion of timely STEM topics (informed by recent podcasts).
After brief introductions, our speaker(s) will share recent activities & discoveries with their impact, and we will have open group conversations with our guests and one another.
Our first “Meet-Up” session will be Wednesday, March 3, from 5-6 PM CST, and will feature our two most recent ARCS MN Scholars, Jospeh Emerson and Courtney Hutton Pospick.
Joe Emerson is a graduate student in the Department of Neuroscience, who uses functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and computational studies to develop an understanding of the link between sensory abnormalities and psychotic disorders. He has received a named ARCS award from 3M.
Courtney Hutton Pospick is a PhD candidate in Computer Science & Engineering, in the Illusioneering Laboratory, working on novel user interfaces for augmented and virtual reality (AR & VR) These novel techniques will facilitate wider usage in multiple ways, including exploration of hazardous areas. Courtney has received a named ARCS award from 3M.
This zoom event is open to ARCS Minnesota members and guests. Please invite others who may want to learn about ARCS.
Zoom information will follow in a separate email.
We hope you'll be able to attend!
